Took a random drive out to Dayton and walked around. This spot is near the Trail of Tears which is Indian Turf. Met a guy looking for Arrow Heads, he said he had found around 400 so far in his life! I also met another photographer out there. She was super nice and we plan to go out and shoot together soon! There was an Osprey nest as well. God's design is quite amazing!
Every last Saturday of each month, starting in March, Cleveland, TN holds a car show. I look forward to getting out to the first one this year, they're always fun!
I absolutely love photography. I believe the learning process will be never ending which is one of the reasons it has my heart. The various types of pictures shown in the 2013 section are different types of photography such as landscapes, night shots and portraits which I am learning about as this is posted.
When it comes to night photography you have to think about the composition thoroughly before pressing the shutter. I recommend using a remote release, flashlight for areas that need extra light and a tripod is essential. This photo was taken around 10:15 pm in December in about 20 degree weather. The exposure time is 16 minutes. ISO 640 shot with an aperture of f/5.6. The long exposure allows the stars to trail and give a nice effect.
This candid portrait shows human emotion. The elements I think that are working nicely are color, lines and framing. I love how the boys head is framed in the background and the lines from the wood that lead the viewers eye to the subject.
Over Spring Break 2012, my friend Jesse and I decided to take off to the Cherokee National Forest and hike towards Benton Falls. On our way we experienced some of the most extravagant scenery, along with a snake encounter! Luckily neither of us got bit, although I think my dog Kiz managed to get bit from being overly excited. After making it to the Falls and enjoying the day, we ran into some Search and Rescue Team members. They had four dogs with them and everyone got a long wonderful and I showed them a picture of the snake, the man said, "That is a Tennessee Water Snake". Listening to their stories really made my day! Very thankful and grateful to be able to walk with my own two legs. We got in around six miles or so today! Anyways, we learned a lot and I enjoyed every moment of it!
